K-12 Educational Programs

Staff visit local elementary schools with a PowerPoint presentation Anyone can be trained to lead this program - do not have to be located in the coastal area. Teacher resources available online: http://www.joinacf.org/#!teacher-resource-page/c22mx Walking School Bus Program with the Alabama Coastal Foundation First started in 2013-2014 at Fairhope Elementary School – first in the state! Kids meet at a neighborhood “walk stop” and walk to school every day. |

Book Clubs at the Orange County Public Library
These two clubs meet on the 1st Wednesday of the month and the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 2:30 PM.
Technology Lessons at the Orange County Public Library
“Tech Drop-in Hours” from 2-4 PM everyday
Also available to make one-on-one appointments with the librarian to ask about technology!
Winter Programming at the Orange County Public Library
During the months of January and February, come by the Orange Beach Library for musical performances and guest speakers Thursday nights from 6-7 PM

Weeks Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve offers hands-on group programming for adult groups
Examples include birdwatching and boardwalk tours; Weeks Bay will cater to your group’s interests and abilities

Onsite Research at Grand Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve
Work with the staff at Grand Bay to pursue research in the coastal habitat; utilize research facilities and collaborate with other naturalists.
